A Positive Force in America

MAS is an independent, grassroots, non-profit organization that engages in religious, educational, social, and civic activities.  Its American identity is clear and firm, unaffiliated with any foreign entity.  MAS is a membership organization, governed by its members through elected bodies.  The MAS headquarters, located in suburban Washington D.C., oversees the operations of all departments and chapters. 

MAS is an Islamic American reform movement that came to existence in response to Allah’s Call.  It strives to fulfill Allah’s Purpose through the Prophetic model.  MAS is an extension of the Prophet’s movement and heir of his mission. 

With chapters in every metropolitan area, MAS has established youth centers, social service agencies, educational institutions, scouting troops, and an array of community development programs the positively impact the lives of thousands of Americans.  Whether through MAS Freedom Foundation,  MAS Youth chapters, the Islamic American University, or MAS Outreach programs, MAS aims to engage and serve all areas of our community and society.  In our model, people come first- organizations are just means to serve them and touch their lives. 

Through active participation in societal affairs and peaceful civic engagement, MAS pursues its mission to establish the universal values of Islam within the framework of the U.S. Constitution.  This approach of civic engagement is rooted in the Quran and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.  Religious and civic duties are congruent-our nation’s government guarantees the basic freedoms to live and promote Islam.  MAS maintains the highest level organizational transparency as it strives to promote positive integration of Muslims in society and intensify outreach on the fronts of education, advocacy, and service.
