Rally in Front of Israeli Embassy, Washington, D.C., Friday, March 7, 2008

WASHINGTON, D.C. (MASNET) March 6, 2008 - MAS Freedom (MASF), as the civic and human rights advocacy entity of the Muslim American Society (MAS) together with the A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition, in continuation of the ongoing campaign to end the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, will Rally in front of the Israeli Embassy, 3514 International Drive, N.W., Washington, D.C., on Friday, March 7, 2008 at 4:00 PM.

In the last week, the Israeli military has launched a high-tech assault on the Palestinian people in Gaza, including air and ground strikes. More than 120 Palestinians have been killed and hundreds more wounded. According to hospitals in Gaza, at least half of those killed have been civilians. In the same period, three Israelis have been killed. Yet, Israeli leaders and the corporate media turn reality upside down by presenting the Israelis as the victims and the Palestinians living under occupation as the aggressors.

Israel - with funding to the tune of $15 million per day from the United States - is using live battlefield surveillance from helicopters and missile-armed, pilot-less airplanes equipped with cameras that can see in the dark. Israel has also threatened a major new invasion and renewed occupation of Gaza.

"We cannot remain silent while the Palestinian people continue to suffer from these abominable acts, and we call upon all Americans of good will and conscience to join us in calling for a cease fire on both sides and an end to the Gaza embargo," stated MAS Freedom Executive Director, Mahdi Bray.
