| MAS Cincinnati Conducts Successful Ohio Primary Elections Public Education Forum |

The Muslim American Society-Cincinnati (MAS-Cincinnati ), and MAS Freedom (MASF) , sponsored Ohio Primary Elections Public Education Forum on Friday, February 29, 2008, at 8 PM, in anticipation of the Ohio Democratic and Republican primary elections to be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2008. MAS Freedom (MASF ), sponsored the event for the Muslim community through its Voting is Power (VIP ) campaign.
Invitations were sent to representatives of all presidential candidates and parties. Speakers who attended the educational forum included: Senator Eric Kearney of the 9th District, official surrogates of Barack Obama; and Rev E. Terri Lavelle, Director of Democratic National Committee (DNC)'s Faith in Action Initiative. Attendees had the opportunity to learn first hand about the candidates and the issues important to them. The event, held at the MAS Community center, was very well attended with representation from all segments of the community. Attendees' questions covered international topics, US foreign and domestic policies as well healthcare, economic and environmental issues. The objectives of this Town Hall Meeting included voter registration, education and participation in the elections process. These objectives are also part of MAS mission: "The Muslim American Society (MAS) is a comprehensive American reform movement founded on the deep, balanced and moderate understanding of Islam. MAS aims to revive the faith, develop and unite the Muslim community, contribute to the betterment of society, and promote the universal values of Islam within the framework of the pluralistic American society.
